Playtime is certainly what Fred Nogier engages in when he begins one of his urban odysseys. Motivated by the desire to play before taking photographs, he observes, imagines, and improvises surprising and original little scenes in which his shadow plays the main role. These performances take their inspiration from the traces and objects he comes across, unusual incidents and details to which we generally pay little or no attention, but which he sees as the soul of the city. In this urban landscape that has become both his stage and his playground, the sun serves as a guide, leading him from one story to the next.
